Artisans are groomed and supported as creative entrepreneurs , who engaged in preserving and developing intangible cultural heritage like performing arts and crafts. They are a part of AFL ( Art for Life – A flagship initiative ). More than 10,000 families have made the transition across poverty line through AFL. Currently , AFL is engaging 23,000 people in partnership with the Department of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board and UNESCO.
